winter wildernessJanuary 20 & 21, 2018 - Winter Wilderness Weekend

Free guided hikes to see the spectacular ice falls of Starved Rock. Enjoy bald eagle viewing and the geology of Starved Rock. Meet at the Visitor's Center at 9:00am and 1:00pm Saturday & Sunday.

April 28 & 29, 2018 - Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage

Join the Starved Rock Foundation guides as we hike into canyons and overlooks throughout the Park enjoying the the variety of spring wildflowers and sparkling canyon waterfalls. Learn about the history & geology of the Park as well. Hikes will leave the Visitor Center at 9am & 1pm each day.

October 20 & 21, 2018 - Fall Colors Weekend

Join the Park Interpreter and the Starved Rock Foundation hike leaders as we hike to ovrlooks and canyons to view the spectacular colors of fall! Our hikers will also learn about the history and geology along the way. Hikes will leave the VC at 10am

Your Safety is important to us!

In order to insure a safe visit please be aware of Park Rules:

  • NO Rock Climbing anywhere in Park.
  • Stay on the marked Trails.
  • NO swimming or wading in canyon pools or the river.
  • Do not deface canyon walls with etchings, paint, or markers.
  • NO littering; bring trash to receptacles by parking areas.
ALL ARE ILLEGAL AND FINES CAN BE ISSUED.
